No permission

Continued from yesterday, no one gave me permission to set up my first listening table.

Or my second, third, or two-hundredth. The police have never told me to pack it up, although I did once have an angry man flip my table and tell me never to come back to his neighborhood.

You don’t need permission to start. You just need a reason.

Boldness creates ripples.

If you find yourself in the grips of loneliness, as so many of us do, declare to somebody that you are going to become a warrior of love. Do something bizarre. Don’t overthing it. Make it memorable.

Loneliness is a temporary feeling if you let it be.
One simple, bold choice can mitigate it for the rest of your life.

Need a boost? Text the last 20 people in your phone this message:

“I’ve decided that I’m going to be a better listener than I ever have been. That means I’m gonna ask you better questions from now on. It’s a small shift, but give it time.”

Bold and memorable is only life-changing if it comes with consistency.
Now put the work in action.
