How to get men to open up
How to get a man to talk:
Say, “Tell me what’s going on.”
Say, “I’m not going anywhere.”
Wait.
You’ll either get a blank stare, or sooth a heart.
On this note, I spoke to the head of Greek Life at a university the other day.
There’s a stigma about mental health in the fraternities.
Girls are better about it.
All the self-inflicted losses of life in his tenure at his last school were by men in Greek life.
Since then, he created an initiative to get at least one member of each fraternity at his school to have a mental health first aid training.
We spoke about including listening tables into the pledging process.
Will fraternities lead the charge in men learning how to open up to each other?
It only takes one match to start a blaze.
