Commitment to positive self talk
Jesse's story of running 100 miles.
I listened to a clip recently by Jesse Itzler, an endurance athlete and entrepreneur who struggled to break 38 miles. Anyone who doubts themself should watch this video.
He tells the story of a Navy seal who gives him the three secrets to shattering his barriers:
Never give your pain a voice.
It know it’s going to be hard. You’re going to have the thoughts that it’s going to be hard, that you’re not good, that you can’t do it. Once you speak those thoughts, you give them power.
If I ask you how you feel today, your only answer is OUTSTANDING.
Never die in the chair.
You don’t sit down. You don’t quit. You take quitting off the table.
Every lap, say what you’re grateful for.
Never forget what you’re grateful for. Stay connected to the meaningful things in life.
The words you speak matter. Choose your words, and you choose your destiny.
