Chicken time
the most sacred hour of the day
Finally, another episode about food. Because the last four weren’t enough.
Today was a simple day.
I started with a meditation class. I’m learning Transcendental Meditation (aka TM).
Something to help with the existential dread, I hope.
It was my second of four introductory sessions.
Teacher highlighted the eight elements of TM.
Said if you are doing even one of them, you’re on the right track.
Seems like you can’t really do it wrong.
If you sit in silence for 20 minutes, twice a day, you’re cooking with gas.
Also, falling asleep is allowed (I do that).
After the class, I noticed cookies by the door.
Gave ‘em the finger.
I’m pretty much invincible before noon, since fruit till noon is in play.

Sucks to suck, cheap cookies.
I decided not to go to the event I was invited to.
So chicken time at Ralph’s was activated.
At chicken time aka 7pm, Ralph’s half-prices all their chicken.
Whole chicken for four bucks? I’ll take two.

Too good to be true.
Today, I won food.
A friend sent me a post a nutritionist made about my style of eating perhaps being a rebellion. I’ll see how that lands when I’m exposed to another big meal.
Thanks for listening.
P.S. I’m teaching a speaking workshop in Venice, tonight at 6:30. If you’re in town and interested in coming, I’ll offer a special rate to my readers. Just reply with the work ‘speaking’.
