Action precedes clarity

This week feels about boldness. One quote I appreciate is this:

Action precedes _____ (fill in the blank)

Clarity. Motivation. Strategy.

Whatever it is, action comes first.

I was invited to lead a public speaking workshop in June.
Cue imposter syndrome: But I don’t make 15k per speech…
Cue evidence response: But I make more than 2k per speech.
I’ve spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours on classes.

Remember: The worst case scenario of trying beats the best case scenario of doing nothing.

You learn from mistakes 100x faster than you learn from sitting on your hands.

If you want to throw a good dinner party, throw a dinner and then figure out how you could have made it better afterwards.

If you want to be a better speaker, give a short speech at the dinner.
If you want to be a better listener, ask a better question, then get feedback on your listening. (If you want 1:1 coaching, reply ‘coach’)

Whatever you want to be good at is on the other side of being bad at it.

This is coming from someone who is learning how to write a better newsletter. And here we are, with a hamburger graphic to tell you to click on an ad to raise money for teen mental health programs.
